Mission Statement

Palouse Industries will provide education, training, and employment opportunities for persons with disabilities residing in Whitman and Latah Counties in order to assist them to attain their highest possible socioeconomic level in the community.

Purpose Statement

Palouse Industries serves as a model for areas businesses and service providers to see children and adults with special needs as contributing members of our society. Ideally, Palouse Industries strives for the day when supports will be available in each preschool, business, public agency, and charitable organization that would sufficiently serve the needs of people with disabilities. Until then we are at the service of our community, state, local municipalities and families.

Palouse Industries is a community based non-profit organization devoted to improving the lives of individuals with disabilities and their families throughout Whitman and Latah Counties. We are dedicated to serving people with many different skills and abilities from all walks of life.

Palouse Industries has several programs to help customers succeed throughout many phases of life.


Our Early Childhood program operated by Early Learning Services (ELS) is a preschool and childcare program that provides opportunities for social and community participation to children with and without special needs.

Palouse Industries provides Family Support through our Young Children and Families of the Palouse (YCFP) which is devoted to health, growth, and learning for all young children by teaching parents, caregivers, and community partners to optimize the skills, abilities, and motivation for life-long learning in young children.

Palouse Industries’ Supported Employment helps adults with disabilities to find and maintain employment in community businesses at or above minimum wage. Services typically include job development, on-the-job training, employer and coworker training, and job modification.

Pre- Employment Services (GSE) and Pre-vocational Services provide the working age adults with significant barriers to employment a chance to work and prepare for community based competitive employment. Work locations may include a structured work center or small crews in inclusive community based work environments. Customers benefit from the continuous support of a trainer while gaining practical employment experience.
