Hezekiah's Story

Hezekiah 'Hezzy' Gayle was born 11 weeks early, weighing in at 2 lb. 4 oz.  His mother passed away within days of his birth due to complications of her pregnancy.  Hezzy spent two months in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), watched over with a mix of grief and wonder by his loving dad Tony.

Once released from the NICU, Hezzy received early intervention services in Nevada until he was 20 months old, when the family relocated to our area.  Dad contacted to Boost Collaborative, and the team began providing Speech Therapy, Physical Therapy and Special Instruction services to Hezzy and his family in their home.  Boost was also able to assist the family in accessing much-needed medical insurance for Hezzy.

During his time with the program, Hezzy grew from a toddler who was not yet walking or talking to an active, charming, engaging, and curious 3-year-old ready to enter the world of preschool.  He continues to be nurtured by his now-larger family.

Dad summarized his family's experience with the program by saying "Boost Collaborative were like Earth Angels for my Son and I, we give God thanks for Mrs. Sue and her amazing staff!"
